The 3rd Annual My Favourite Place in Peterborough contest
The Art School of Peterborough will launch the 3rd Annual My Favourite Place in Peterborough contest on May 1st at the May Day Instant Art Party and Auction.
What is your favorite place in Peterborough (City/County)? The Art School of Peterborough really wants to hear from you. Maybe it is a grand building filled with music and laughter, a quiet relaxing place you have found where the coffee is just the way you like it, a place that holds a precious memory, or a natural space that says to you "This is my home town."
Send in your choice, with a few key details about why it is special to you, to The Art School of Peterborough. From the entries received, up to 20 will be chosen. Your stories will become the inspiration for a work of art created by invited local artists and will be auctioned at The Art School's 15th Annual Fall Art Auction, November 6, 2009 at the Parkway Place hall. By participating, you will be eligible to win an artist's rendition of your "favourite place".
Entry forms will be available at the Art School of Peterborough's May Day Fundraiser. Drop by the Charlotte Mews tunnel to fill out a ballot, while taken in the festivities.

About the "My Favourite Place in Peterborough" initiative
Created by Heather Collins, a board member of the Art School of Peterborough, the 15th Annual Fall Art Auction, the "My Favorite Place in Peterborough" competition is embarking on it's third campaign. The goal is to match inspiring stories about our community with local visual artists and see what kind of magic can be made. The resulting artwork will be auctioned off at the Art School's 15th Annual Fall Art Auction. By entering a story in the competition, participants will be eligible to win and artist's rendition of their "favourite place".
Volunteers Needed
The Art School of Peterborough is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to be part of our team for the Fall Auction Fundraiser. The Fall Auction is our largest annual fundraising event and "it takes a village" to get all the pieces in place to make it a night to remember. The Auction Committee meets just once a month during the summer months, but gears up starting in September to pull everything together for the grand event on November 6th, 2010.
