It involves creating wax models that are exactly replicated in metal in the finest detail. The workshop will be split over two Sundays, three weeks apart. The first session will focus on preparing the wax models by hand, involving filing, carving, drilling or melting the wax. Various techniques will be demonstrated. The second session will involve filing, sanding, finishing, and polishing the silver castings. Note: cost of the silver is in addition to the course fee, and will depend on the number and weight of piece(s) made. (As a indicator, a 'smaller' ring or pendant can be made for $25-35). Not only will you come away with a unique piece of jewellery made by yourself, but you will gain valuable insight into the process of jewellery making in general.
